Sunflowers and bales of straw around the village of Puyravault
A special place to stay surrounded by nature
Enjoy your holiday or get-away in our guest house, a real nature's heaven!
Staying with us, in Puyravault, our quiet village close to Surgères and half an hour driving from most places of interest in Charente Maritime, allows you to rest in the country after exploring the area. You wont find such outdoor natural space and indoor room on our lovely but busy coast. We offer 10 acres of enclosed land including a wood, fields, playgrounds, gardens, an orchard, terraces and paths. The estate is surrounded by ancient stone walls and inhabited by a rich wild life (bird sanctuary, hedgehogs, bats, rabbits etc).
Passing the big gate, you will first see beautifully restored stone-built and Roman-tile-covered old buildings dating from the past centuries. Behind and further, nature is waiting for you.
Fond of wild life? Take binoculars, wait, look and listen.
Fond of "farniente"? Lay in a deck chair or a hamac, read a book or have a little nap.
Fond of relaxing? Sit on the terraces and have a drink looking to our very old oak trees, especially the green oak.
Fond of sport? Play volley-ball, badminton, pétanque, table tennis or real tennis. Jog or bike in the country around the village.
These are summer occupations. In other seasons or on chilly or rainy days, the house offers a lot to do: playing billiard (pool and snooker balls available), discovering our scales museum, playing traditional games, reading books, listening to music, watching TV, making tea, drinking a glass or chatting with us or other guests etc.
And you know what? Despite the long story of the property, 21st century has reached us: we've got free WI-FI access for you!
